Songwriting is Inventing

Out of thin air, you can produce something that can change peoples lives forever.

I have been writing songs (inventing) for over 15 years and I am still in love with the feeling I get when I have written a song. When I started writing, I had no idea what I was doing, in fact I couldn't even play an instrument. That is the beauty of songwriting, anyone can do it!

I have started this blog for two reasons...
1: Because I want to share some somgwriting techniques with you, It doesn't matter if you are just starting out or you are a seasoned pro, there are always things you can learn.
2: I want you to share your songwriting tips with me.

Let me begin sharing my background in music. I have been playing and writing since the age of 17. I was the singer/songwriter in the Australian band Something With Numbers . SWN had mid range success in Australia, two top 20 albums and nominated for an ARIA for "breakthrough single" in 2009. Then I moved to LA and started the band Maniac, where I toured the USA several times and had my songs licenced on TV shows like The Kardashians and Dance Moms. 

I'm currently working on my debut solo record which I successfully crowd funded.

I am looking forward to sharing my ideas with you and I hope you will share some ideas with me.
